Continued Prayer Request

Last month, I asked for your prayers concerning a skin cancer issue that has developed.

Many of you have gladly prayed, and are continuing to do so. And for that I am deeply thankful.

I ask for you to continue that, especially today. This morning I am having surgery to have a portion of the skin on my ear removed, until the doctor is certain that he has removed all of the cancerous cells.

This is a procedure called the Mohs Procedure. The doctor will remove a layer of tissue and take it directly to the lab to examine it. He will continue to take layer after layer until he has obtained a clear margin of healthy cells on all sides of the squamous cell carcinoma.

This could be a very short visit, or it could take a few hours, depending upon just how much the cancer has grown and spread.

Many of you may know that skin cancer, although a different variety from what I currently have, is what my dad suffered from, and eventually claimed his life. That makes this a very serious issue for me and for my family.

I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers for my healing, and for the doctor’s guidance as he works.

Thanks! I greatly appreciate your willingness to remember me before the Lord!

Be deliberate, Dad!
