Celebrate!

Today is a day to celebrate!

It’s July 4th, American Independence Day! It’s a day for grilling. A day for lemonade and ice tea. A day for fun with friends and family. And a night designed for blazing displays of fireworks.

Our kids need times to celebrate. But they also need to understand why we celebrate. Not just the reasons for a particular holiday, such as this one, and America’s independence from Britain.

Our kids need to know that we celebrate with them because celebration is all about joy.

We celebrate because we have a reason to celebrate. We have a reason to be joyful.

That means you don’t even need a holiday for an excuse to celebrate. You can find plenty of reasons to have some fun with your family. And your kids will love those times.

I know I enjoy them too. Today is an opportunity to spend some fun, relaxing time with my family and friends. Today is an opportunity to enjoy one another. Today is a chance to show your kids that you love being with them.

Make today a special day. Celebrate… Not just Independence Day… Celebrate your kids!

Be deliberate, Dad!
