One of my goals here on DeliberateDads is to point out resources that can help us as dads to become the best dads that we can be.
One such resource is FamilyMan Ministries, with Todd Wilson. I’ve plugged Todd’s ministry before, but I want to share it again.
Last week, we were blessed at our church to have Todd and his family come and challenge us. I had noticed a few months ago, that he was scheduled to speak not too far from my home. My initial idea was to go hear him, possibly bringing along a few of the guys from my church.
But then, I had the idea, if Todd was going to be near our town, and headed to another town past us, I wonder if we could get him to stop here? So I emailed him through his website, and the details fell right into place. He was here to share with our church and community last Wednesday evening.
And let me tell you, it was incredible. It was one of the most enjoyable, relaxing evenings I’ve had in a long time. He helped me to laugh. He challenged me to be a better husband, a better father, and a better leader. It was an incredible evening.
He taught us from Titus 2, where Paul encourages older men and younger men, older women and younger women. His encouragement to us was challenging, and yet light hearted. Our church and community really enjoyed the evening together with Todd and his family.
Todd’s ministry has been an excellent resource for me over the years, and played a large part in my decision to create DeliberateDads. His blog and podcast are excellent. And his website contains tons of great resources for dads to step up and be the dads they were created to be. One of the best things we’ve gained over the years has been our Family Advent Nights. The idea came from FamilyMan, and the resources are there as well.
If you have the opportunity to hear Todd speak, or even to bring him to your church or community, I highly encourage you to do so. You and your family will be blessed beyond measure.
We were.
